UNIVERSAL ENERGY RANGE

As the weather warms up, why not try your tea ICED.  There are a number of ways to do this, here are our tips.

  • Tea with Ice; Brew the tea up extra strong, rather than 5 mins brewing, try 30 mins.  This will create a strong tea base.  Add this blend to the fridge to cool.  Once it has cooled, add ice and some water to your tasting.

  • Slushie; Brew the tea up extra strong, put it in the freezer in an ice tray.  When frozen, put it in your blender with a little water and enjoy an iced slushie.

  • Ice blocks; Use the tea made up in the ice tray and add to water.

DON'T LIKE GREEN TEA? IT'S ALL IN THE BREWING

Not too hot....SpiritualiTEA Heart Chakra Tea and New Moon Tea both contain Sencha Green Tea.  To ensure you experience the flavour and aroma of green tea it is important to know some key brewing tips.  The temperature of the water you add to your green tea should be 80 degrees Celsius.  There are some new kettles available now that allow you to choose the degree setting for heating, if you don’t have one of these, generally waiting 2 inutes for the water to cool is adequate.

Flavour and sweetness of green tea is determined by a number of amino acids and natural sugars which are dissolved at lower temperatures.  Bitterness and astringency of the tea is what comes from the tannins within the tea.  Hence by adding boiling water we release more bitterness.

Not too long...Green tea does not require a long steeping time. Generally 2 minutes is all that is required.  Too long a steeping time will result in more bitterness and less balanced flavour.

Ensuring the correct temperature and time of steeping will ensure your Tea is JUST RIGHT.

When making a new dish for the first time, I always follow the recipe and then the next time I make my own adjustments according to my tastes.

The recommendations on the tins for each tea are just that, recommendations.  Feel free to brew longer, with less or more tea.  The exception being Green Tea.

For Example:

Root Chakra Tea - 3-5mins of brewing the cinnamon will be quite prominent.  After 5 mins the taste is more full bodied.

Sacral Chakra Tea - I brew it for 5 mins and then add some of the actual tea to my cup so it continues to brew.
