Everything is Energy.  Everything vibrates at a frequency.

Within us we have an intelligent Energy System made up of Chakras.

We have 7 Chakras in our physical body.  Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown.  Each of these Chakras governs specific areas of our life.

The Chakras are generators and distributors of energy.  When their ability to receive, generate and distribute energy is disrupted, they don't work efficiently.

Energy we receive from the Universe and move throughout our body is often referred to as chi, life force, prana.

We want to keep the energy flowing throughout our Chakras to achieve balance in our internal world and ultimately our external world.

When a Chakra is not working properly, we may experience problems with our physical and emotional health, our relationships with family, friends and work colleagues, finances, love life and/or career.

There are many factors that effect the flow of energy in the Chakras. In Anatomy of the Spirit (1996), Caroline Myss describes the function of Chakras as follows: "Every thought and experience you've ever had in your life gets filtered through these chakra databases.”

Negative thoughts and worries along with general life experiences can upset the flow of energy to our Chakras.

There are many ways to nourish our Chakras.  Our Root Chakra benefits from time in nature connecting to the Earth whilst the Heart Chakra buzzes from time spent with animals.  Our Throat Chakra loves great conversations with like minded people and our Sacral Chakra wants us to stop and smell the roses, inhaling the beauty around us.

CHAKRAS

All your Chakras will benefit from:

  • Colour therapy - bring more of the corresponding Chakras colour into your life.

  • Crystal therapy - find some of natures treasures to wear, place in your home, car, workspace.

  • Mediation - White Light cleansing meditations bring in high vibing white light to cleanse each Chakra.

  • Chakra Tea - Our Teas are filled with natures treasures.  Every herb, fruit, spice and tea has been specifically chosen to nourish the corresponding Chakra.  Every tin of tea is filled with intent and healing energy to clear, cleanse and bless the Chakra.

Often we don't know our Chakras are out of balance until we experience a physical symptom.  As always, the more we are in tune with our body and taking a proactive approach to our own healing, the more our life will flow.

NOTE

Information in this chart has been collated from teachings undertaken with Belinda Davidson.  For more in depth information we recommend Belinda's book From Dark to Light.

ROOT CHAKRA

The Root Chakra is the first Chakra and is connected to the colour red.  It is located at 2 points; the base of your spine and between your feet.  The Root Chakra is associated with the legs, hips, feet, spinal column and colon.

Your Root Chakra is related to your physical experience as a human in this world.  Feeling secure, safe and grounded with regards to your finances, career, home, possessions and being surrounded by your people.  Fears and worries about these areas create an imbalance in the Root Chakra, causing energy blockages.

Knowing how to ground yourself and being connected to your body, surroundings, your people and the world around you will assist in keeping this Root Chakra ruby red and full of energy.  Sip your tea on the Earth will have this Chakra buzzing.

SACRAL CHAKRA

The Sacral Chakra is the second Chakra and is connected to the colour Orange.  It is located in the pelvis area, just below the naval.  This Chakra is associated with the lower abdomen, pelvis, kidneys, bladder, upper section of the colon and reproductive organs.

The main functions of the Sacral Chakra are creativity, manifesting and joy.  Understanding what inspires you, will allow you to experience the joy in life.  In turn this will allow you to draw into your life what you truly desire.

The Sanskrit name for the Sacral chakra is Svadhisthana which means sweetness.  That is at the core of this Chakra, experiencing the sweetness in life.  Remember to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, stop and take in the awe of a sunset, the joy of a family meal, the smell of the roses.  Basically be in the moment.

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA

The Solar Plexus is the third Chakra and is connected to the colour Yellow.  It is located at the stomach.  It is associated with the organs of digestion – the liver, gallbladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas and small intestine.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is your power centre.  If the Root Chakra is the roots of the tree and the Crown Chakra is the flowers at the top of the tree reaching for the sky then the Solar Plexus is the strong tree trunk.  It stand up for what it wants. is empowered, has a strong willpower, sets healthy boundaries.  When you experience a gut feeling about a person or situation, that is your Solar Plexus talking to you.

HEART CHAKRA

The Heart Chakra is the fourth Chakra and is connected to the colour Green (with a tinge of Pink).  It is located at the Heart area.  It is associated with the heart, chest, arms, hands, blood and circulatory system. This Chakra also flows out the palms of the hands, therefore its energy touches everything you touch.

Your Heart Chakra is about love; the ability to give and receive love unconditionally. Essential to this Chakra is forgiveness, towards others and yourself.  Let's not forget the importance of self love.  Nurture yourself, fill your cup (with Heart Chakra Tea :) ), do what you love...each and every day.  Animals are a great tonic for the Heart Chakra.

THROAT CHAKRA

The Throat Chakra is the fifth Chakra and is connected to the colour Blue.  It is located in the throat and neck area.  It is associated with the mouth, voice, throat, jaw, thyroid gland and neck.

The Throat Chakra is all about communication and authenticity.  Being able to communicate honestly and opening with others.  You can express yourself honestly and openly whilst also being able to listen to other, accepting they have their own point of view and you remain open minded.  This Chakra wants you to be uniquely you.

This is also the Chakra where clairaudient information is received, that is psychic hearing.

THIRD EYE CHAKRA

The Third Eye Chakra is the sixth Chakra and is connected to the colour Indigo.  It is located above and between the eyebrows.  It is associated with the physical areas of the head including the brain, ears and eyes.

The Third Eye Chakra is the eye of insight, your intuition.  We all have the ability to tap into our intuition, our inner guidance, inner knowing but our monkey mind and our go, go, go lifestyle often deters us from listening. Listen to your first instinct and gut feeling, they won't lead you astray.  They will open you up to new possibilities.  When you work with your Third Eye you will find more guidance and insight from your nightly dreams too.

CROWN CHAKRA

The Crown Chakra is the seventh Chakra and is connected to the colour Violet and also White as White is made up of all colours in the spectrum.  It is located at the top of your head.  It is associated with the upper brain and the nervous system.

The Crown Chakra is the home of your spirituality.  It is your awareness of your spiritual self and your connection to the Universe.  When you lively mindfully, in the present moment whilst also having trust and faith in the Universe, your Crown Chakra is full of vibrant energy.

When this Chakra is balanced, it allows the other chakras to receive energy.  It enables you to feel a part of and connected to the whole Universe.
